Although the Bible was written many years ago it is still relevant and
powerful for us today. The
Bible is the Word of God. It is God
breathed and God inspired and was written over many years by many different
people under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of God’s
children.
The following scriptures
demonstrate how important the Bible is to us.
All scripture is given by
inspiration of God that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for
every good work. (2 Timmothy 3:16 –17)
The Word of God is living and
powerful, sharper than a two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul
and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
The sword of the Spirit is
the Word of God. (Ephesians 6:18)
Faith comes by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17)
This book of the Law shall
not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that
you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will
make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8)
Your Word I have hidden in my
heart, That I might not sin against you. (Palms 119:11)
If you abide in Me, and My
words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
(John 15:7)
Receive the word with all
readiness and search the scriptures daily. (adapted from Acts 17:11)
The grass withers and the
flowers fade but the Word of God stands forever. (Isaiah 40:8)
Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. (Deuteronomy 11:18) Observe and obey all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God. (Deuteronomy 12:28)
