God Gives Us Knowledge Wisdom and Revelation

I'm not really a fan of scripted prayers. They can become monotonous and ineffective if we are not careful.  This prayer, is more like personalized scripture.  I have taken scriptures straight from the Bible and written them in first person so that you can use them in prayer.  Read them in your Bible, meditate on them and ask God to give you a personal revelation of His Word.  I pray that as you read your Bible, that the Word will come alive to you and you will gain a deeper understanding of what God wants to teach you. Dear God, I come to You in faith, believing that You are able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than I could ever think or ask. I pray that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You my Lord, fully pleasing You , being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power,...

God Gives Me Guidance and Direction

God is Our Compass G od never leaves us to struggle aimlessly.   His Word is full of guidance and direction. The Bible shows us how to live and teaches us how to follow His plans for our lives. Below are some scripture to meditate on when you are seeking direction. Write them on some note cards and read them throughout your day. The more we focus on the Word, the more we know and understand His will for us. I will be anxious for nothing. I will trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I will acknowledge Him and He will direct my paths. (Phil 4:6a, Prov. 3:5-6) I am His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand. He who has begun a good work in me will continue it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Eph 2:10, Phil 1:6) The Lord will guide me continually. His Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. He is the One who goes with me. He will never leave or forsake me   (Isa...

God Gives Me Rest

God Calms our Storms When you are tired and feel as though you can’t walk another step, that you can’t go on and want to give up call out to God. Put your trust in God. God knows and understands your troubles. He is our eternal strength, our resting place. He will never let us down.   Read and meditate on the scriptures below.  Write them down on some note cards and read them when you are feeling weary. God spoke the world into being.  His words are alive and powerful. Speak His words over your situation. I will seek the Lord when I am weary and heavy laden for He gives me rest. I will cast my burdens on Him for He cares for me and shall sustain me.    (Matt   11:28, 1 Pet 5:7,   Ps 55:22) My   soul finds rest in God alone. I will rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. He is my hiding place. He shall preserve me from trouble.    (Ps 62:1 NIV, Ps 37:7, Ps 32:7) God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power...

God Gives Me Strength

Scriptures for Strength When you feel weak and powerless call on God. He will give you the strength you need to get through any problem or situation no matter how difficult it may seem.   God is bigger than any circumstance, situation or problem. Here are some scripture verses for you to study and meditate on.  Read them, write them down and pray them out loud.  Speak these words over yourself and see changes take place.  Sometimes it's a change in our own thought life and perspective that gets us through challenging times.  Sometimes it's God moving on our behalf.  Trust in Him.  I will be strong and of good courage. I will not be afraid or dismayed for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go. (Josh 1:9) I am strong in the Lord and the power of His might. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. For greater is He   who is in   me than he who is in the world.   (Eph 6:10,   Phil 4:13, 1 Jn 4:4) My ...

Why Declare God's Word?

Although the Bible was written many years ago it is still relevant and powerful for us today. The Bible is the Word of God.   It is God breathed and God inspired and was written over many years by many different people under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of God’s children.    The following scriptures demonstrate how important the Bible is to us. All scripture is given by inspiration of God that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timmothy 3:16 –17) The Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than a two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.   (Hebrews 4:12) The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. (Ephesians 6:18) Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17) This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it d...

Welcome to The Sword of the Spirit

Ephesians chapter 6 teaches us about putting on the armor of God to fight against the whiles of the devil. I have heard many great teachings about putting on the armor of God but most of these teachings miss what I believe is the most valuable tool in our armory.  The sword. At the end of this passage, in verse 17 we read... " 17  And take the helmet of salvation,  and  the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" The helmet, the belt, the breastplate, the shoes and the shield are all defensive tools designed to protect a solider from injury. The  Word of God, our SWORD is the only offensive weapon, the only tool used to engage in battle against the enemy. The Word of God is the Holy Spirit's fighting power. It is our spiritual weapon too. God's Word is the tool we should be using to fight to good fight. I created this blog to encourage myself and others to sharpen our Spiritual swords by getting into and studying the Word of God.    The Whole Ar...
