God Gives Us Knowledge Wisdom and Revelation

I'm not really a fan of scripted prayers. They can become monotonous and ineffective if we are not careful.

This prayer, is more like personalized scripture.  I have taken scriptures straight from the Bible and written them in first person so that you can use them in prayer.  Read them in your Bible, meditate on them and ask God to give you a personal revelation of His Word.

I pray that as you read your Bible, that the Word will come alive to you and you will gain a deeper understanding of what God wants to teach you.

Dear God,

I come to You in faith, believing that You are able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than I could ever think or ask.

I pray that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You my Lord, fully pleasing You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and long suffering with joy; giving thanks to You Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light.  You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through Jesus’ blood, the forgiveness of sins.  (Col 1:9- 14)

Thank you for giving me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You , the eyes of my understanding are being enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward me who believes, according to the working of Your mighty power (in me) (Eph 1:17-19)

I thank You, that You would grant me, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in my inner man, that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that I may be filled with all the fullness of You. (Eph 3:16- 19)

I pray, that my love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that I may approve the things that are excellent, that I may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of You, my God. (Phil 1:9-11)

Thank You God that as I seek You I will find You.  Thank You that as I read and meditate on Your Word I will draw closer to You and gain greater knowledge, revelation and understanding of You and Your Word,

In Jesus’ name, AMEN

The Battle Zone

This is a sermon that I preached.. We have all heard sayings such as “Life wasn’t meant to be a bed of roses” or “life ain’t easy”. Well, they are true. Life isn’t easy; it is filled with many challenges. (This may shock you, but God says life is meant to be that way) Sometimes as Christians we think that when we get saved and give our lives over to Jesus that life will change and that we will no longer have challenges.   WRONG! It is quite the opposite actually.   (John 16:33 tells us that in the World we will have tribulation.) When we become born again, we change teams – we move from the devil’s team (the defeated side) and into God’s team (where we are guaranteed victory, but not with a fight.) The problem is (not really a problem at all when you know the truth) when we change teams the devil no longer sees us as ‘safe’ or a non-threat.   When we dedicate our lives to Christ, we become his enemy and he sets out to do everything that he can to disarm, di...

Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover

1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.  Matthew 7:1-5 We’ve all heard the saying don’t judge a book by its cover but what does that really mean?   In a simple way it means that we shouldn’t judge something by the way it looks or seems to be.   It is only natural as human beings to make judgements about things.   We constantly make assumptions about things from what we see, hear and experience.   But what about when we make judgements without looking deeper than surface appearances?   W...

The Greatest Miracle of All

When Jesus was about to go to the Father, He spoke to His disciples in John 14:23.  He said Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works I do he will also do: and greater works he will do, because I go to the Father. As individuals, we can't really do more than Jesus did as He had the Spirit without measure, we are not more powerful than Jesus. But, as the body of Christ, we have the opportunity reach and help more people than Jesus and His disciples were able to during their time on earth.  Jesus performed many miracles during His three years of ministry. more than could be counted. Many people remember his miracles, but we do not always stop and think about the importance of His teachings.  Jesus came to bring us life, life more abundantly. He came so that we might come to know the Father, that though Him, we might have forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Jesus came to reveal God to us.  Most importantly of all He came to bring us salvatio...

God Gives Me Rest

God Calms our Storms When you are tired and feel as though you can’t walk another step, that you can’t go on and want to give up call out to God. Put your trust in God. God knows and understands your troubles. He is our eternal strength, our resting place. He will never let us down.   Read and meditate on the scriptures below.  Write them down on some note cards and read them when you are feeling weary. God spoke the world into being.  His words are alive and powerful. Speak His words over your situation. I will seek the Lord when I am weary and heavy laden for He gives me rest. I will cast my burdens on Him for He cares for me and shall sustain me.    (Matt   11:28, 1 Pet 5:7,   Ps 55:22) My   soul finds rest in God alone. I will rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. He is my hiding place. He shall preserve me from trouble.    (Ps 62:1 NIV, Ps 37:7, Ps 32:7) God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power...
